Telegram will give you your contact list, but only as result.json or an HTML page, and neither imports into a phone. This tool reads that export and writes a standard vCard (.vcf) file, the format every contacts app understands, plus a CSV with the exact column names Google Contacts expects.

The file is parsed on your device. Your contacts are never sent anywhere.

How to export your contacts from Telegram

    Open Telegram Desktop

    The export feature is only in the desktop app (Windows, macOS, Linux), not in the mobile apps.

    Go to Settings → Advanced → Export Telegram data

    Untick everything except Contacts list to keep the export small and fast.

    Choose a format

    Pick Machine-readable JSON for the cleanest result. HTML also works.

    Export and find the file

    Telegram writes a folder containing result.json (JSON) or lists/contacts.html (HTML). Drop either file here, or zip the folder and drop the zip.

What is inside the file

The JSON export holds a contacts.list array with first name, last name, phone number and the date each contact was added. The HTML export shows the same fields as a page of entries. Contacts without a phone number appear as a name only.

  • A Google Contacts CSV with the Name / Given Name / Family Name / Phone columns Google’s importer recognises
  • An Excel or CSV table of all contacts for your own use

Privacy

This tool runs entirely in your browser. The file is read on your device by a background script, the result is built on your device, and nothing is transmitted to us or to anyone else. You can load this page, turn off your internet connection and the tool keeps working. There is no account and no quota.

Questions

How do I import the VCF into my phone?

On Android, open the Contacts app → Fix & manage → Import from file and pick the .vcf. On iPhone, email or AirDrop the .vcf to yourself and open it; iOS offers to add all contacts. You can also import it at contacts.google.com or into Outlook.

Why are some contacts missing a phone number?

Telegram only exports the number for contacts who shared it with you. People you met through a group or a username appear by name only.

Does this include people who deleted their account?

No. The export reflects your current contact list as Telegram holds it.

Can I use the HTML export instead of JSON?

Yes. Drop contacts.html and the tool reads the names, numbers and dates from the page.

Is anything uploaded?

No. The file is read in your browser, the vCard is built in your browser, and the download comes from your own device.
