TikTok data file viewer

Finally read the file TikTok sent you: watch history, likes, DMs and searches as clean tables, with charts.

or drop it here

The TikTok_Data_….zip TikTok emailed you, or user_data_tiktok.json / .txt from inside it

  • Runs in your browser
  • Nothing is uploaded
  • No signup
  • Free

TikTok lets you download everything it holds about your account, then hands you a file nothing opens properly: a user_data_tiktok.json that is one enormous line, or a .txt that scrolls for thousands of pages. This viewer reads either, splits it into the sections you care about, and shows each as a table you can scroll, sort in Excel, or search.

Every watch-history entry keeps its link, so you can find a video you saw months ago. Likes, comments, searches, direct messages, followers and following lists are all there, plus a chart of how much you watched each month.

How to download your TikTok data

  1. 1

Open TikTok → Profile → Menu (☰) → Settings and privacy

Then Account → Download your data.

  2. 2

Choose what to include and pick JSON

Select “All data” or just the sections you want. Choose JSON as the format; TXT works too but is slower to read.

  3. 3

    Request and wait

TikTok prepares the file within a few days and shows a Download button on the same screen. The file is available for four days.

  4. 4

    Drop the zip here

You can drop the whole TikTok_Data_….zip as downloaded, or extract it and drop the JSON or TXT inside.

What is inside the file

The export is grouped into Activity (watch history, likes, favorites, searches, shares, logins), Comments, Direct Messages (one list per conversation, which this tool merges into one table with a Conversation column), Profile, Followers and Following, Ads and interests, Purchases and more. Dates are in the format 2024-03-14 10:11:12 in UTC.

What you get

  • Watch history: date and link for every video, most recent first
  • Liked videos, Favorite videos, Comments, Searches, Shares
  • Direct messages in one sheet with conversation, date, sender and text
  • Followers and Following lists, Profile details, Logins
  • Charts of videos watched and likes per month
  • Excel with one sheet per section, CSV per section, or JSON

Limits to know about

  • TikTok caps watch history at roughly the last six months in some regions. Older activity is simply not in the file.
  • Video links point to TikTok; the videos themselves are not in the export.
  • TikTok changes the export layout from time to time. Sections are detected by name, so a renamed section may appear under its raw name rather than a friendly one.

Privacy

This tool runs entirely in your browser. The file is read on your device by a background script, the result is built on your device, and nothing is transmitted to us or to anyone else. You can load this page, turn off your internet connection and the tool keeps working. There is no account and no quota.

Questions

How do I open the TikTok JSON file?

Drop it here. The file is valid JSON but written as a single line several megabytes long, which is why text editors freeze and Excel shows gibberish. This tool parses it in your browser and shows each section as a table.

How do I open the TXT version?

Also drop it here. The TXT is the same data written as blocks of “Key: Value” lines; the tool reconstructs the sections from the headings.

Can I see my full watch history?

You see everything TikTok included, each entry with its date and video link. TikTok itself limits how far back the history goes, typically around six months.

Can I export only my DMs or only my likes?

Yes. Use the per-section CSV download, or download the Excel and keep the sheet you want.

Is the file uploaded anywhere?

No. It is read in your browser. Your messages, searches and watch history never leave your device.

Does this make a TikTok Wrapped?

It gives you the numbers and monthly charts behind one: videos watched, likes, comments and when you were most active. A shareable summary card is planned.
